Acoustic singer/song writer Sean David Rivers was born in Washington DC, but grew up in Laurel, Maryland, where as a young boy he showed intense interest in singing and in music. Although he did not learn to play the guitar until age 25 one of his earliest memories is singing at the age of 4, and his family often made fun of him for singing in the shower, which he did routinely. Sean has been singing professionally for 15 years, first as an actor in Maryland for various theater companies in such musicals as Godspell, The Robber BrideGroom, Fiddler on the Roof, Damn Yankees, A Christmas Carol, and Violet.
Now having ditched the theatre stage for the music stage Sean is starting to make a name for himself in New England, playing in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Sean had several callbacks for national tours of the musical Rent, and is currently working on a second original album. He is determined to improve upon his debut album, “Goodbye Youth.” He has his doctorate in Educational Psychology and works with inner city youth in Hartford, Connecticut.
